Advertisement for a Vacancy
Appointment of Vice Chancellor for Shaheed Benazir Bhutto University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Sakrand, Shaheed Benazirabad.
The Shaheed Benazir Bhutto University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Sakrand, Shaheed Benazirabad, invites applications from dynamic, financially astute, highly qualified, and experienced professionals with academic and research expertise for the position of Vice Chancellor.
Eligibility Criteria
(1) The Vice Chancellor will be appointed for a term of four years and may be re-appointed for one additional term of four years on the recommendation of the Search Committee by the Chief Minister in accordance with the provisions of the Sindh Universities and Institutes Laws (Amendment) Act 2011 (Sindh Act No. 20 of 2012) and will have the academic qualifications, experience, and age as per the Act.
Academic Qualifications and Experience:
- Ph.D. or equivalent degree in the field of Veterinary and Animal Sciences from an HEC-recognized university/institution.
- Must be a highly qualified and distinguished academician with a proven track record of leadership in a university, agricultural and livestock institute, or college.
- Must have at least 15 years of experience as a professor, or an equivalent position in a university, or as a registrar, principal, or a government officer in BPS-17 or a similar position in a national or international organization with 10 years of academic, research, and managerial experience.
- Must be a distinguished academician with a master's degree or higher in a field recognized by HEC and a Ph.D. or equivalent degree.
- Must have a reputation for academic excellence, integrity, and intellectual leadership.
- Must possess strong managerial and administrative skills, and a proven track record of leadership in civil society or public administration.
- Must be a person of distinction with outstanding characteristics and a publication record recognized by HEC (at least 10 publications).
- The applicant for the position of Vice Chancellor must not be more than 63 years of age on the last date of application.
- Civil servants applying on the basis of their experience will have to relinquish their position to be selected as Vice Chancellor.
Responsibilities of the Vice Chancellor:
- Promotion of quality education.
- Promotion of research and development.
- Establishment of national and international collaborations with industrial and business organizations.
- Strategic planning for the university.
- Development of new departments and research programs in accordance with international standards.
- The applicant must have excellent communication, written, and presentation skills.
General Conditions:
- No TA/DA will be paid for the interview.
- Only shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview.
