PRCS Invites applications from qualified, dynamic, and motivated individuals for the following position:

District Programme Officer

Location: Shigar (Skardu)

Key Responsibilities

The District Programme Officer will be responsible for the effective implementation and coordination of recovery programs and humanitarian operations at the district level. Major responsibilities include:

  • Conduct assessments, planning and implementation of program activities.
  • Implement programs related to Disaster Management (DM), Health, WASH, Protection, Gender & Inclusion (PGI), PMER and Youth & Volunteer (Y&V) Initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain liaison with district government authorities and relevant stakeholders for effective program implementation.
  • Coordinate relief and recovery interventions during disaster and emergency situations.
  • Ensure active community participation and supervise community-based activities.
  • Monitor and assess the progress of community-based initiatives.
  • Facilitate the supply and distribution of materials to the field in coordination with the logistics department.
  • Coordinate with different sectors to ensure harmonized program implementation.
  • Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly and annual reports to Provincial Headquarters (PHQ).
  • Support district volunteers in planning and implementing PRCS activities.
  • Verify bills and assist in preparation of financial reports as per prescribed formats.
  • Mobilize volunteers, establish youth clubs, and maintain youth and volunteer databases.
  • Plan and implement activities related to youth engagement, disaster management, health, WASH, livelihood support, fundraising, and branch development.
  • Organize and monitor Disaster Resilience trainings for volunteers through Community Disaster Response Trainers.
  • Submit activity progress reports and perform any other task assigned by the Provincial Secretary.

Eligibility Criteria:

Education

  • Master's degree in Social Sciences or equivalent from a recognized university.

Experience

  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in the development or humanitarian sector.
  • Experience with humanitarian organizations will be preferred.
  • Prior experience with PRCS will be an added advantage.
  • Experience in supervising staff and volunteers.
  • Experience in report writing, proposal development, and budgeting.

Required Skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Proficiency in computer applications.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under challenging conditions.
  • Experience working with non-profit organizations and youth groups.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends if required.

Other Requirements

  • Age Limit: Maximum 45 years
  • Travel: Extensive travel to targeted communities is required.
  • Preference: Local candidates from the respective Region will be preferred.
