Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) is the prime official agency responsible for collection, compilation and dissemination of reliable and timely statistical information, which is essentially required for the policy makers, planners and researchers. The main function of PBS is to conduct various Censuses and Surveys which also includes National Accounts and various reports/publications on economics and social aspects of the country based on primary and secondary data. The Ministry is looking for a qualified, vibrant, energetic and experienced individuals for the following positions in PBS:
MEMBER (RESOURCE MANAGEMENT)
Management Position-II Scale
a. Qualifications- Have an advanced university degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Finance or Social Science preferably Economics, Mathematics or Statistics from Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan recognized university, preferably from leading International University.
b. Skills- Be a professional with demonstrated technical knowledge of human resource management, administration, budgeting, audit related issues, coordination, planning, litigation, legislative matters.
c. Having minimum 15 years' experience with at least five (5) years in senior management position in organization of significant size and importance.
d. Knowledge of necessity and importance of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
e. Knowledge and experience of issues related to personnel administration including but not restricted to recruitment, career planning, training, disciplinary matters and administrative issues etc.
f. A sound understanding of Government Management Systems would be an advantage.
MEMBER (ECONOMIC STATISTICS)
Management Position-II Scale
a. Qualifications- Have an advanced university degree in Economics, Econometrics or Statistics from Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan recognized university, preferably from leading International University.
b. Skills- Be a professional with demonstrated technical knowledge of economics, statistics and various national and international economic issues, necessity and importance of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
c. Having minimum of 15 years' experience with at least five years' in senior management position in organization of significant size and importance.
d. Knowledge and experience of issues related to poverty, youth literacy and income index based on primary and second data.
e. Experience in data analysis techniques and tools.
f. A sound understanding of Government Management systems would be an advantage.
MEMBER (NATIONAL ACCOUNTS)
Management Position-II Scale
a. Qualifications- Have an advanced university degree in Economics, Data Science, Econometrics, Finance, Statistics from Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan recognized university, preferably from leading International University.
b. Skills- Be a professional with demonstrated technical knowledge of economics, statistics, pricing index, macroeconomic indicators and various national and global economic issues.
c. Having minimum 15 years' experience, with at least five (5) years in senior management position in organization of significant size and importance.
d. Experience of data management and analysis tools.
e. Knowledge & experience of international practices for macroeconomic data management and practices followed in Pakistan by major data management institutions.
f. A sound understanding of Government Management Systems would be an advantage.
MEMBER (CENSUS AND SURVEYS)
Management Position-II Scale
a. Qualifications- Have an advanced university degree in Statistics, Anthropology, Sociology, Demography from Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan recognized university, preferably from leading International University.
b. Skills- Be a professional with demonstrated technical knowledge of conducting census or surveys on latest techniques and tools and supervising field force.
c. Experience of designing/preparing training programmers, questionnaires/forms.
d. Sound knowledge of preparing and guiding census or survey methodologies and sampling techniques.
e. Having minimum 15 years' experience with at least five (5) years in senior management position in organization of significant size and importance.
f. A sound understanding of Government Management Systems would be an advantage.

Salary- Management Position-II (MP-II) Scale
Age- maximum 62 years
Term of appointment is four (04) years and shall be eligible for re-appointment subject to satisfactory performance. The individual will cease to hold the post on completion of term or attaining the age of sixty-five (65) years whichever is earlier.
Applicants already serving in Government department must apply through proper channel.
Selected individual will be required to get clearance from the FIA, NAB and other relevant authorities and to assist the Chief Statistician in dispensation of the assignments in the relevant areas.
