VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
CHAIRPERSON PEMRA
In terms of Section-6 and Section-7 of the PEMRA Ordinance, 2002, as amended by PEMRA (Amendment) Act, 2023, applications are invited for the post of Chairperson, Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA).
Eligibility
The candidate should have the following qualifications and experience:
a. The candidate shall be an eminent professional of known integrity and competence, having relevant experience of at least 20 years in media, business, management, finance, economics or law in accordance with Section 6(2) of the PEMRA Ordinance, 2002 as amended by the PEMRA (Amendment) Act, 2023.
b. The candidate must have a minimum qualification of sixteen (16) years of education or equivalent from a university of Pakistan or abroad duly recognized by the Higher Education Commission (HEC).
c. The maximum age limit for the post is 61 years on the closing date of the applications.
d. Government servants meeting the eligibility criteria can also apply through proper channel.
Responsibilities
The selected candidate will be required to function under the PEMRA Ordinance, 2002 as amended by PEMRA (Amendment) Act, 2023.
Tenure
The position has 4 years tenure; however; the incumbent will retire on attaining the age of 65 years.
Salary Package
Emoluments will be admissible as per MP-1 Scale of the Management Position Policy, 2020, Government of Pakistan.
